PIONEERING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN NURSING

The AI Nurses Network run a range of events each year to support nurses to develop and pioneer artificial intelligence techniques, models and tools in healthcare to improve patient care and population health. AI Nurses Network Conference 2026

The inaugural AI Nurses Network Conference will take place on the 1st September 2026 at Bush House Auditorium, King's College London. The aim of the national conference is to:

PRESENT progress and best practices in AI development, use and evaluation that supports nursing practice locally and internationally.
INSPIRE debate on the development of different forms of AI and its use in nursing practice, education, and research across the United Kingdom and globally.

DEMONSTRATE impact that nurses who pioneer AI can have on patient care, health service delivery, workforce development and population health.
SPARK collaboration between nurses and AI experts and industry to enable new AI models and AI tools to be developed and integrated into healthcare.

Conference themes

The themes of the AI Nurses Network conference will cover a range of important topics including:

PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE Covering aspects of nursing practice where machine learning based predictive models and tools, generative AI, and ambient voice or AI scribing technologies among others are used for patient care and population health.
EDUCATION AND TRAINING Uncovering novel methods for undergraduate and postgraduate education and continuing professional training in AI and data science, with nurses as pivotal actors in delivering robust pedagogical approaches to AI-based education.
INFRASTRUCTURE AND REGULATION Exploring nurses contribute to AI strategy and policy in healthcare, along with regulatory challenges when introducing AI-based technologies into acute hospital and primary care settings.
DIGITAL HEALTH ECOSYSTEMS Examining how nurses can harness AI in tandem with other digital health technologies (e.g., telehealth, wearables, electronic health records) to enhance patient outcomes, optimise resource use, and deliver evidence-based healthcare.
WORKFORCE WELLBEING Focusing on physical and mental health among nurses and students when utilising digital and AI technologies, and how to create supportive ad safe working environments that enable care in a digital and AI age.
LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATION Highlighting nurses’ leadership in AI development, implementation, and governance and exploring innovation pathways for creating bespoke AI tools for nurses.

Conference programme

The team at the AI Nurses Network are passionate about supporting nurses to develop and use artificial intelligence (AI) techniques, models and tools in clinical practice, education, and research to improve patient care and population health. By weaving together research, practice and policy in our inaugural conference, we aim to create a platform that showcases nursing innovation and leadership in AI in healthcare. The result will be a dynamic conference with a number of keynote and other speakers that inspires debate, sparks collaboration, and showcases nurses’ expertise across the United Kingdom and the world.
