PIONEERING ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN NURSING
The AI Nurses Network offers a number of training opportunities to upskill nurses on artificial intelligence, from an introductory webinar on AI in nursing to a more in-depth online training programme called Innovation Scholars covering foundational AI and data science knowledge and skills, as well as bespoke live in-person and online workshops that will run throughout 2025 and beyond. More information on these training resources and how to access them is provided below.
Introductory webinar
Artificial intelligence in nursing
The introductory webinar from Dr Siobhan O'Connor gives an overview of the key AI concepts such as machine learning and natural language processing and their applications in nursing. The webinar also introduces the AI Nurses Network and discusses the education and training, seed funding, and networking and events that are part of the clinical research network. The webinar can be viewed on our YouTube channel here.
Innovation Scholars
AI and data science training for healthcare
Innovation Scholars is a free online training programme, provided by King’s College London and funded by UKRI, that covers a range of topics in artificial intelligence and data science. The courses on AI and data science are specifically tailored for healthcare to support healthcare professionals such as nurses to learn the fundamentals of AI and data science. The section below outlines the training courses that are available across three 3 pillars. These are free to enroll in and complete at your own pace. An underpinning introductory course for those with no experience of what data is, as a precursor to the course listed below, is also available to access for free on Future Learn.

Bespoke AI workshops
Artificial intelligence in nursing
We will be running online training workshops on AI specifically for nurses who want to learn more about AI on the 18th June 2025 (10-11am BST) and 3rd July 2025 (3-4pm BST). The registration process for these has now closed but we will advertise more later this year and you can sign up to the AI Nurses Network newsletter or LinkedIn group to find out when future workshops will take place. The workshops are designed to help nurses learn about preparing a digital health dataset for predictive modelling, choosing appropriate algorithms and other AI techniques to apply to the data to develop an AI model, and how to validate a predictive model.
