Two final year undergraduate adult nursing students at King's College London, Saba Qaisar and Ka Wai Mui, were awarded the AI Nurses Network Student Scholarship for 2026.
They will work with the team running the global research network to undertake research on artificial intelligence (AI) in nursing, in particular looking at AI scribing tools (ambient voice technology) to improve clinical documentation and reduce nurses workload and burnout, while improving their knowledge and skills in research methods.
The nursing students will be mentored by Dr Siobhán O'Connor, based in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing, Midwifery and Palliative Care at King's College London, who commented:
"Saba and Ka are a fantastic addition to our research team and will contribute a student perspective to the research we're doing on ambient voice technology or AI scribes to improve nursing documentation and reduce nurse’s workload. We are all delighted to support their professional development over the next few weeks and excited to hear their ideas for AI in nursing that can help further their careers!".
