Keynote speech at the RCSI Annual Nursing & Midwifery Conference

Dr Siobhan O'Connor was invited as a keynote speaker at the 45th RCSI Annual International Nursing and Midwifery Research and Education Conference in Dublin, Ireland on 26 February 2026. She spoke about the future of nursing in the era of artificial intelligence and discussed how the AI Nurses Network is helping to address the AI literacy gap in the nursing and midwifery workforce locally and globally.


A lively panel discussion followed with Rachel Kenna, Chief Nursing Officer from the Department of Health in Ireland, Dr Siobhán O'Connor from King's College London, and Professor Didier Jourdan, Chair Holder of the UNESCO Global Health & Education and Head of the WHO Collaborating Center for Research in Education & Health about the value of investing in digital and AI-based technologies in nursing and healthcare and how to support ageing populations with technology for better health.
